He did his GP training in Aberdeen in 1985/86 and joined the practice in 1987. In 1991 he obtained his Sports Medicine Diploma. Arthur’s medical interests include Sports Injuries, a service which he also provides to other practices in the district, Musculo-skeletal Medicine and Rheumatology. At the surgery Arthur provides a late Tuesday evening GP surgery to facilitate working patients. In addition to this, Arthur runs the Musculo-Skeletal service for the Wakefield District Primary Care Trust (WDPCT) and is a foundation fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He was Medical Officer to Leeds Rhinos RLFC, a position that he has also held with Castleford Tigers RLFC and the Great Britain Rugby League Team. His wife is also a GP and they have two daughters. His other interests are skiing, all sports and the theatre.
